1. MTN is 10

This advert was released in 2013 when MTN Nigeria turned 10. It came with a very catchy song that had a deep meaning and soothing melody ” Like a dream, like a vision,….Ring the bell, and sound the alarm, MTN is 10. This unforgettable commercial had little kids running to their TV screens whenever it was played. It had a message of appreciation and thanksgiving and was just beautiful overall.

2. INDOMIE: mama do good

One childhood memory most people in their 20s and 30s have is this commercial song. For kids, indomie was a delicacy and it still is for kids and some adults. This advert got stuck in our minds and some would even sing it as a song in appreciation of their mothers. This unforgettable advert song was all about appreciating those who go the extra mile to provide for us and make us happy. “Mama do good oooo, she do good, mama wey cook for us, she do good, she give us indomie…… indomie sweet well well…..”. This commercial achieved its aim and I’m sure the sales statistics skyrocketed as well.

3. GUINNESS

My friend Udeme Is a great man”. this is a phrase that rings a bell for so many of us. This unforgettable TV commercial told the inspiring story of Udeme who was a delivery agent but always had a dream of flying planes. This inspirational advert had a storyline that impacted great hope in so many, it had the message of dreams coming true and laid emphasis on how there is greatness embedded in everyone. And in case you are wondering what happened to Mr. Udeme, well, one way or another he got a jet and was able to deliver goods all across Africa. Inspiring right? well, we can all thank Guinness for that message of hope.

4. MTN: I don port

On the no4 spot, we have MTN Nigeria again but this time with a fun and catchy TV commercial. This Unforgettable TV commercial starred the famous “simply saka” with a message to those who wanted to ‘port’ to the ‘yellow side of life’. This advert in essence preached that one could move to MTN irrespective of the kind of sim they were using previously with just a simple code. Kids chanted this phrase all over and it became a slogan for a while. People would go on to use it when they want to ‘move’ or go someplace else. It was a fun and cheerful advert with funny dance steps from Saka. thank you, Mtn for the memories

5. PEAK MILK: I was de-ter-mined.

Before now when everyone wants to be involved in tech, there was a time when the dream of every young boy was to be a great footballer. And we can thank peak milk for that. Peak Milk stunned us with this Unforgettable commercial starring Nwankwo Kanu and his message of hope and his journey to greatness. in this advert we had Kanu and his son come home and go through Kanu’s picture album and his journey to being a great football player. The phrase “I was de-ter-mined stuck out from the ad and people began using it also. They gave us a message that we can overcome any obstacle as long as there is determination and passion.

6. INDOMIE: to me, to you.

On the no 6 spot, we have another unforgettable advert in Nigeria courtesy of indomie. This brand has a way of making its TV commercials catchy and moving. in this ad, they were spreading the message of making the world a better place, one step at a time, feeding one mouth at a time. They spread the message of eradicating world hunger and always giving to those in need when we can. ” to me, to you, it is up to us to make the world a better place”.

7. VICKS BLUE: baba blue.

Believe it or not, there was a time when 5naira was very useful and relevant in Nigeria. This was the time of Baba Blue and Lemon Plus. This Baba Blue advert was a hilarious one as we had someone in court who mysteriously had a sore throat when asked to defend himself. Fortunately, there was a mint seller in the audience known as Baba Blue who came to their aid. This TV commercial was hilarious but the message was passed across.
