Leslie Jones is another Black comedian with a successful career. From her years as a cast member and writer on SNL to her 2010 Showtime comedy special Problem Child, Jones is unquestionably funny.

During her tenure on The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore, improv and sketch show comedian Robin Thede became the first African-American woman to serve as the head writer for a late-night talk show.
Thede is most known for her work as a writer and co-star on A Black Lady Sketch Show as well as her BET program, The Rundown With Robin Thede, where she provides political and pop cultural analysis.
Thede was the only woman of color hosting a late-night talk show during her tenure on the latter. Both crowds and critics gave the show very positive reviews.
