Over the years, the world has lost global Music Stars and phenomenal personalities to the cold hands of death with only their memories and footprints in the sand of time left with us. Although death is inevitable, we wish they could have stayed a little longer with us. In loving memory of them, here are some global music stars who died before they hit 30years.
Aaliyah Dana Haughton
talented Young singer and songwriter, the beautiful American singer was nicked name the “princess of R&B” and “Queen of Pop” by many people because of her tremendous contribution to the redefining of hip hop and R&B in America. Sadly, the Brooklyn young singer who got singed to a record label at the age of 12 lost her life at the age of 22 after a small Cessna passenger plane carrying her and crew bust into flames few minutes after take off Abaco Island in the Bahamas. Aaliyah Haughton will always be remembered for her song “Back and Forth” and “At Your Best (You Are Love) which made the Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number earn platinum status after selling over 11 million copies within a short period of time. she will also be remembered for her role in several movies which includes “Romeo must die” and “Queen of the Damned”.
Amy Winehouse
Another unforgettable star who died before their 30s is Amy Winehouse. The British songwriter and singer was a multiple Grammy award winner with her album “Back to Back” in 2006. Amy Winehouse who also had a Jewish origin died from Alcohol Poisonings after several years of chronic involvement in drugs and Alcohol. She was announced dead on July 23 2017, a month after her tour was cancelled due to her been intoxicated. nevertheless her unrelease singles after her death also won Grammy including an a documentary about her.
We also have stunning and handsome Actor Lee Thompson Young who lost his
life in 2013 due to a self inflicted gunshot wound at the age of 29. He was known
for his role as the title character on TV’s “The Famous Jett Jackson.”
Tammi Terrell
Tammi Terrell, another young American talented Star singer falls within the list of the music stars that died before their 30s. The beautiful singer Tammi who signed for Motown Records during the 1960s did several duet with Marvin Gaye. The young lady died at 24years old from a brain tumor even after eight unsuccessful surgeries. However, her song “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough“, which was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999.
Tupac Shakur
Tupac Shakur was one of the successful best selling rapper and actor whose “All Eyez on Me” double disc album is still one of the best-selling hip hop albums of all time. However, the Black American song writer and rapper was shot in September 13, 1996 just at the age of 25. The rapper is still considered as one of the influential rapper of all time with his philosophies, boldness against racism and injustice and activism against inequality. The rapper is also know for the nickname 2pac and Makaveli.
Jimi Hendrix
Jimi Hendrix was another tremendous personality within the history of the American music industry. Hendrix was a songwriter, singer however he was specially know for his magic fingers on the Guitar, to the extent that we became of of the most-influential electric guitarists in America in the 1960s. However, the Seattle man who was born in November 27th 1942 died in September 18 1970 at the age of 27years. Nevertheless, Jimi Hendrix Experience was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 200, years after he died from an overdosed of a mixture of red wine and prescription sleeping pills.
Selena Quintanilla Pérez
Selena Perez was an American singer of Tejano music, she was so unique with her style that she became the most well-known Mexican-American entertainers of the late 20th century. Her talents earned her the name “Queen of Tejano music”. Also, based on the sales of Latin albums and Latin songs, Billboard magazine ranked her third on their list of the “Greatest Latino Artists of All Time” in 2020 after her death.
On March 31, 1995, Selena’s friend and former manager Yolanda Saldavar shot and killed the singer. it was indeed a sad day for everyone even though Yolanda was caught and sentence to 3o years in prison. However, Selena tremendous talents made George W. Bush who was the Governor of Texas in 2015 proclaimed April 16 to be Selena Day in the state. Warner Bros and Netflix also premiered a movie titled Selena to honor her. Selena songs is still one of the top-selling female Latin music, with about 18 million recordings sold worldwide.

In a long list of tragic deaths where only few were mentioned, it can be said that so many of those deaths were caused by self destruction and addiction to hard drugs. However, while some could have been avoided and prevented, some lost their lives to cruelty and while others died due to sickness. They were however, all really sad tragedies and were mourned globally. May their souls continue to rest on.
