The World’s richest man has finally taken over Twitter after spending 44billion, Months after calling Twitter “an asset that has just sort of languished for a long time, but has incredible potential, although obviously myself and the other investors are overpaying for Twitter right now”
Elon Musk after the take over tweeted that “bird is free”. before taking over Elon Musk had gone into the Twitter office at San Franciso carrying a sinkhole, an impression people were not surprised with due to his interview months ago that once he completes the deal a lot of workers will be sacked. The sinkhole was like a symbol to show this assertion by the richest man in the world.
Taking over the Bluebird app was fully completed on the 28th of October 2022. immediately Elon Musk fulfilled his words by sacking the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Parag Agrawal, Chief financial officer (CFO) Ned Segal and all other major executives controlling the company.
Earlier plans
The plan to sack several of the executives has been part of the plan of the world’s richest man since April when he became the company’s largest shareholder. Elon Musk who accumulated a share of 5 per cent in March after showing interest in buying the company in January has indeed achieved his dream. Although he lost interest in the company in July even when he was the highest shareholder, until October when he decided to pursue the dream again.
Elon Musk’s fluctuation in plans and the sacking of the Twitter executives are due to the fact that the richest man had accused the company Executive of having several irregularities in their data and their moderation policies. that their moderation was cutting off the free speech of the bluebird app. However, Elon Musk accused them of irregularities in their data by claiming the number of fake accounts was more than what the company claimed.
Twitter Response
Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal and CFO Ned Segal were seeing been escorted out of the Twitter headquarters in San Francisco. however, Twitter there has been no comment from Twitter about this or its new management team. Nevertheless, whoever becomes the new chief executive officer it’s clear that Elon Musk will be fully in charge and there will be several changes in the organisation which include the freedom of speech.
Elon Musk who is considered an Absolutist of free speech might lead to Twitter unbanned several people who had been banned earlier for hate speech. for instance when a former president of the United state of America was banned from Twitter. Elon Musk had called the Twitter decision “foolish” and promised to overturn it.
