The BTS is one of the tremendous group bands in Korea that are showing us that Koreans are not just going with emotional movies called K-drama but also can touch your feelings with their voices and Lyrics.  B.T.S is an abbreviation of  Bangtan Sonyeondan. A Korean word when translated means “Bulletproof Boy Scouts” or “Bangtan Boys”, The band that gained global recognition in the late 2010s is also sometimes called Beyond the Scene.

The band consists of 7 strikingly handsome Korean young Men named Jin, Suga, J-hope, V, Jimin, Jungkook, and Rm. Altogether they released their first debut album in 2013 which was named “2cool 4 Skool”.

The BTS also known as the Bangtan Boys has evolved gradually from their original genre which was hip hop and they have incorporated other genres and styles of music including the alternate universe storyline.

The Band (B.T.S)

Let’s get to meet these young men and their roles in the band. There’s
• Jin who is a vocalist and who is currently 29 years old.
• Suga. The rapper with the flows, also 29 years of age
• J-hope, also a rapper but younger than Suga by a year.
• RM is the leader of the group and also the lead rapper, but surprisingly not
the oldest as he is just 28 years old
• Jimin, the young vocalist who is just 26 years old
• V, another amazing vocalist who shares age with Jimin
And then we have the youngest in the band,
• Jungkook, who is just 25, but also a great vocalist.

 

Together these young men have gone ahead to change the world in their way, telling stories of self-becoming, and finding themselves and their lives through their music. But, the group hasn’t always known fame as they had released several other albums before their big break into the global market in 2017. They became recognized and honored globally as the first ever Korean group to receive a gold certification from the RIAA for their song “mic drop” and the first South Korean act to top the Billboard 200 in 2018.

 

Other Achievements

• Another noticeable record attained was being one of the few groups with “4 US
  number 1 albums” in less than 2 years. Highly impressive? then wait till you hear the rest.
• One would think that these Korean young Men would fade into the light but their
  quest for greatness had only just begun as in 2020, BTS, became the first south
  Korean group to reach “no 1 on the Billboard Hot 100” and their single “Dynamite”
  became Grammy nominated. They have since then released other chart-topping
  songs like “Butter, Life Goes On, savage love, etc.” which made them the first to
  earn 4 US No. 1 singles since 2006.
• They also got to be featured on Time’s international cover as “Next Generation Leaders” and dubbed the “Princes of Pop”. BTS has also appeared on Time’s list of the 25 most influential people on the internet (2017–2019).

Also, Having sold over 30 million albums, it is safe to say that they are the best-selling
artist in South Korean history. The group’s achievements out of many include multiple American Music Awards still including Billboard Music Awards, Golden Disc Awards, and nominations for two Grammy Awards.

Some Important Facts about B.T.S

Did you know that the BTS is a non-English speaking act? How surprising. And
this non-English speaking group is the first to hold sold-out concerts in the Rose
Bowl and Wembley Stadium in 2019. They were also named the global recording
artist of the year for both 2020 and 2021 by the International Federation of the
Phonographic Industry. believe me, that’s not all there are still some amazing facts about the Band.

• In 2017, they partnered with UNICEF to establish the “Love Myself” anti-violence campaign, and they addressed three sessions of the United Nations General Assembly.
•  Ever since their rise to fame, the BTS has had countless endorsements including their partnership with PUMA which began in 2015, and their endorsement deal with FILA in 2019. The BTS has since served as global ambassadors for LG, HYUNDAI, NEXO, FORMULA E, SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS, DIOR, AND EVEN LOUIS VUITTON.
• Also, the group is known as the princes of pop and has been said to be as influential as the Beetles. One major cause they stand for is preserving their culture and language and in 2018, they became the youngest recipients of the order of cultural merit from the president of South Korea for their contributions in spreading Korean culture and language.

And you can be sure that they get their fair share of love from the ladies from all over the world, Beauty like theirs does not go unnoticed, it is safe to say that they are indeed “smooth like butter”. The group are said to take a hiatus to complete their required military service, with a reunion planned for 2025. We’ll be waiting for BTS!!.
