World cup
The World Cup in football (soccer) is a quadrennial tournament of 32 national teams that are organized by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). The tournament unifies the world regardless of one’s country’s qualification or not. However, as the FIFA World Cup in Qatar is about to start, many football stars will miss the Qatar 2022 tournament.

ERLING HAALAND
Erling Haaland nicknamed “the Beast” because of his strength is in fine form at Manchester City scoring 22 goals in just 15 games. However, the Norwegians will miss the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after the Norwegian National Team failed to qualify out of the group stages. The Norway National team came third behind Netherlands and Turkey. Haaland’s sensational goal-scoring record in the EPL this season will surely be missed at the 2022 World Cup.

France midfielder Paul Pogba will also be among the football stars that will be missing out on the world cup. the french and Juventus star will be missing the world cup due to a knee injury. The Magnificent midfielder who was instrumental in France winning the world cup in 2018 will surely be missed.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic
The heroic deed of Zlatan Ibrahimovic can’t be forgotten in the football world, especially after his long-range bicycle kick goal against England on November 14 2012. however, the Swedish striker will be missing the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup after the Swedish team failed to qualify. Although the 41year old striker has been at two FIFA World Cups (2002 and 2016) he will be missed as football fans around who are waiting to see Zlatan Goal at a world cup will not see it happen.

Luiz Diaz falls among the Football Stars that will be missing the Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022. The tremendous Colombia Winger has made his mark since moving to Liverpool from Porto in January 2022. However, the Colombian team failed to qualify for the world cup in Qatar and even the brilliant goal from Luiz Diaz against Bolivia was not enough to save them a qualification spot.

Roberto Fermino is one of those players that will be missing the world cup in Qatar. The Liverpool and Brazilian Star player was dropped by Tite the Brazilian coach. “The World Cup is a dream for every player and with me, it wouldn’t be any different. Yesterday things didn’t go the way I imagined or dreamed for my life but I can look back and have a grateful heart to God that he has already allowed me to live that dream as well as so many others.” the player wrote on his Instagram page. However, it’s unlikely that the player is going to be involved in the 2026 World after missing out on this year’s world cup in Qatar.

The Chelsea Striker who is one of the top ten (10) strikers in the world will also be watching the FIFA World Cup in Qatar 2022 from home or at the stadium not only because the Gabon National team had filed to qualify for the world cup but because he has retired from international duty. Although In 2017, the Striker could not also make the Russia 2018 World Cup after the Gabon national team were beaten by Morroco 3goals to nothing.

The Italian striker, who is still a contender for the 2022 Seria golden boot with his fine form will miss the World Cup after the Italian National Team were beaten by North Macedonia. The 31year old Football star Ciro Immobile who was part of the Italian team that won the Euro 2020 might be able to grace the World Cup again because of his age and young Italian raising starts after the national team missed out on two consecutive world cup tournaments.

Victor Osimhen the Nigerian striker who plays for Napoli is another football Star that will not play at the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The Nigerian deadly striker is sometimes compared to Haaland because of his strength and ability to score during challenging games. However, the under-17 FIFA world cup winner in 2015 will not be at the world cup in Qatar after his national team where beaten by Ghana at the Abuja stadium.

Mo Salah the Egyptian Captain and Liverpool’s “Weapon of Goal” is also among the Football Star that will not play at the FIFA 2022 World Cup. Mo Salah a two-time African Player of the Year (2017 and 2018) and Epl Top scorer of 2021/2022 a joint award with Tottenham’s Son Heung-min wouldn’t be playing at the FIFA world cup in Qatar 2022 after the Egyptian National lost to Senegal.
Although, the Egyptian took time before opening his goal accounts in the EPL this season, however, his past tremendous and magnificent spell to change games will be missed at the World Cup.

Gianluigi Donnarumma
The Italian and PSG stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma also falls among the list of football stars that will not be playing at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. The Italian stopper who rose to stardom after Winning the Euros in addition to the retirement of Buffon will not be playing at the World Cup. The tournament should have been his first world cup appearance as the Italian first-choice Goalkeeper.
