5 great artists that left Olamide: Olamide, a legendary Nigerian rapper, has occasionally co-signed acts and sometimes promoted them during the past nine years.

Some of the most successful musical careers in recent Nigerian history have benefited from the work of Olamide and his label, YBNL. While some have since abandoned him amicably, the majority still admire him. here are 5 great artists that left Olamide:

1. Adekunle Gold

Adekunle Gold, a modern folk and afro-pop artist from Nigeria, signed with YBNL in 2015. His tracks “Sade,” “Orente,” and “Pick Up” became huge hits while he was signed to the label, and “Sade” won Best Alternative Song at the 2016 Headies. After his debut album, Gold was released on July 28, 2016, he left the label in 2016.

The artist expressed this about his time there when he left the label: “YBNL moved me. Before YBNL, I had Sade, and it was already becoming well-known. We shot the video when I was signed to the label, and it quickly went viral. “I traveled to London for the first time after being signed to YBNL. It happened in 2015. Therefore, YBNL completely altered my life. I’m appreciative of Olamide’s encouragement and support.

2. Lil Kesh

Ololade Keshinro joined YBNL sometime in April 2014. Olamide sent a message on social media to mark the signing that said, “Lil kesh @mynameiskesh… Bomb, Lomoyen. “E go blow soon.” He was accurate. Between April 2014 and April 2016, Lil Kesh had a nearly unmatched run. Lil Kesh had five back-to-back hits by January 2016, when he lost the next-rated award at the Headies to Reekado Banks.

Lil Kesh said in a statement on April 26, 2016, that his contract with YBNL has ended. Along with the label, he also put out one record. In March 2016, the song “YAGI” was released soon before he left the label. He worked with Olamide on the contentious song “Logo Benz” in the latter part of 2018.

3. Chinko Ekun

Chinko Ekun is among the 5 great artists that left Olamide. While still a Law Student at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, the rapper with the ridiculously hilarious Mandarin gimmick signed to YBNL.

But tragically, only Xino had a quieter spell at YBNL than Chinko Ekun. He had the name, but it was never actually backed up for one reason or the other – presumably schooling and schedules. His most significant act at the label was arguably the Day In The Studio freestyle. “@baddosneh gave me a voice when nobody did and put me on,” he wrote in a message to Olamide when he departed the label in 2016. Come rain come shine I am forever grateful for the effect on my life!”

He most famously co-wrote and co-released the smash hit “Able God” with Lil Kesh and Zlatan Ibile after his departure.

4. Lyta

Olamide came across the singer Lyta. During his time with the label, he dropped the hit singles “Self Made” and “Time,” both of which featured Olamide, on September 19, 2018. Before Picazo, Yomi Blaize, and Fireboy DML, he came to YBNL.

However, following earlier in the year rumors of his departure from YBNL, he finally appeared on Naijaloaded TV to announce the end of his mixed affiliation with YBNL. He stated during the interview that despite receiving between 50,000 and 80,000 for performances, the label never provided him with a written contract.

I don’t have a deal with YBNL or Olamide, he declared. Although I don’t have a legal agreement with Olamide, he rescued me after spotting me on the street. Olamide and YBNL will always be a part of my story. Olamide, may God bless you, I appreciate everything. No affection was lost. I was receiving benefits, yes. I used to get paid by the for shows. Occasionally, 80k, 60k, or 50k. However, when I released my songs “Temi” and “Self-made,” I received nothing.

Olamide reacted as well, saying that Lyta was refusing to follow YBNL’s promotion timetable. The rapper added that Lyta felt dissatisfied as other artists began to receive their shine. Olamide claims he unfollowed Lyta on Instagram in order to avoid “bad energy”.

5. Davolee

Davolee was signed by Olamide in November 2016. After the departure of Chinko Ekun, Lil Kesh, Viktoh, and Adekunle Gold, this occurred. The label required some new blood, which it gladly received. Olamide announced his signing on his Facebook and Instagram pages, writing, “Artiste ‘Davolee’ new YBNL guy… new music Davolee Ileka at Festival Bar.

He delivered two truly outstanding tracks between 2016 and 2018 while he was rumored to be on the label: 2017’s B-Banks-produced “Festival Bar” and 2018’s “Cirocing.” His talent was always obvious, but it was never really supported by any hits. After Picazo Rhap, Fireboy DML, and Yomi Blaize were signed to the label, there were clear indications that there was a rift.

On the label’s Wikipedia page, he is currently listed as neither a current artist nor a previous artist.
