1. He desired to join the CIA.
Johnson wanted to join the Central Intelligence Agency and work as a real-life crime fighter, but a legal obstacle stood in his way. Johnson wrote on Instagram in 2018: “My criminal justice professor and advisor (Dr. Paul Cromwell) persuaded me that the best operative I could become for the agency is one that possessed a law degree.”
That made him face reality. I thought that was a brilliant idea, but then I realized that with my pile of boiling s**t grades, no respectable law school would ever admit me. “Story over,”.
He did, however, get a bachelor of general studies in physiology and criminology from the University of Miami.
2. His grandfather and father were both wrestlers.
Johnson carried on the wrestling tradition started by his grandpa, “High Chief” Peter Maivia, an American Samoan, in the 1960s by becoming the first third-generation wrestler in the WWE.
Before marrying his daughter, Rocky Johnson, a.k.a. “Soul Man,” who was born in Nova Scotia, took advice from Maivia.
Rocky Johnson began training his son after he retired in 1991, and by the time the younger Johnson made his WWE debut in 1996, The New York Times reported that Rocky would occasionally be seen “leaping into the ring and defending his son when he looked to be in jeopardy.”

3. He devised a 10- to 12-year strategy to rise to the top of Hollywood.
Johnson appeared to have suddenly taken control of the wrestling and film industries in a flash, but in reality, it was all part of a long-term strategy.

Speaking of multitasking! The Guinness World Record for the most selfies snapped in three minutes was established by Johnson in 2015 as he was attending the London premiere of his movie San Andreas with 105 fans.
Officials were present to ensure that each photograph clearly showed the subjects’ entire face and neck (a few were disqualified). He eventually succeeded, though, and shared a picture on Instagram.

5. He is contemplating a presidential bid.
Could Johnson enter politics eventually after crossing off so many categories? Maybe. It’s no accident that every episode of Young Rock begins and finishes with Johnson, who is running for president in 2032, being interviewed by a journalist, played by Randall Park.
In fact, he declared in 2017 that he might consider running for president in the future if the public demanded it.
He had previously spoken of his desire to visit the White House. He admitted to GQ in 2016 that “I can’t deny that the concept of being governor, the thought of being president, is attractive.”
6. It took 60 hours to ink his back, chest and left arm.
Johnson traveled to Hawaii in 2003 to have Tahitian tattoo artist Po’oini Yrondi mark his body with the family ancestry, Johnson and Yrondi talked for hours and prayed before they began.
The intricate design, which required 60 hours to complete over three 20-hour sessions, stands in for “all the things that are essential to me, that I love, and that I’m passionate about,” according to the man who had the tattoo.
The symbolism includes the sun for luck, two ancestors’ eyes watching over him, a
tortoiseshell to ward off evil spirits, and coconut leaves indicating a Samoan chief warrior.
7. His childhood monicker was “Dewey.”

He flew to Miami after being let go from the football club in 1995 and asked his father in Tampa to pick him up. On Interstate 75, Johnson pondered the amount of money he had to his name.
